Mercedes “Mercy” Villar graduated from Deerborne School in Coral Gables, attended Miami Dade Community College and graduated from the School of Business at University of Miami. She is the daughter of Ricardo and Leonor Villar of the former Villar Tiles Inc. in Doral, FL and the granddaughter of Jose and Mercedes Villar of Terrazzo & Mármoles Villar in Cuba.
Mercedes marks the 3rd-generation in the tile and marble industry. She officially started to work in the family business at 17 and since then has held numerous positions throughout her 30 plus years in the industry. Some noted positions held include general and specialized national and international sales, management, created and enforced market expansion of specialty products in the USA with manufacturers, distributors and dealers in the USA.
Consulting manufacturers of specialty products is one of her strengths. She created access of highly specialized products to over 200 dealers, distributors and a national chain in the USA. She created, implemented and supervised a wholesale program with multiple manufacturers with a synergistic approach that was cost effectiveness with national distribution.
Her career has encompassed extensive traveling between 3 continents, vendor negotiations, product design & development, logistic, marketing, management, training, import & export and representing unique and distinctive products in the USA and Caribbean.
Some of her achievements include the creation and implementation of accredited AIA conferences for architects on the creation, management and supervision of complex custom projects, revamping of the Mayfair in Coconut Grove, Elizabeth Virrick Park in Miami, and the five impressive three-dimensional sculptures of artist Daniel Lind Ramos in Loiza, PR.
She is married to Gustavo Gonzalez, founder and president of Plom Electric Corp. dba IMPEC and places focus on vendor relations, contract negotiations and product development. IMPEC imports specialty construction finishes; tile, marble, lighting, plumbing, electrical and wire devices.
Mercedes has sat on numerous condo associations, the Board of Trustees at the Palmas Academy, PTA President, and volunteers at 4H, an international youth organization at the Miami-Dade Chapter under UF, where as a teenager served as youth president. She is presently president on the Doral Décor District Merchants Assoc. (DDDMA).
She attributes her success to strong family values and work ethics. Her ability to identify opportunities and resources using synergistic approaches to develop and/or better processes, ideas, products and services, “to make the best better” keeps her motivated. Her organizational abilities provide her the strength to carry out intricate projects and goals with effective outcomes.
She is currently expanding her career to include real estate and property management.
Mercedes has a daughter and two step sons.
Steve Musolino Jr.
Stephen Musolino Jr. is the second generation to follow in the tile and marble industry. His commitment in the industry spans 25 years with Casa Linda Tile & Marble located in Doral, Florida.
Stephen Jr. completed his Business Administration degree from MDCC in 1986. He is presently is the Vice Chairman for the Doral Décor District Steering Committee, and Vice President of the Doral Décor District Merchants Assoc. (DDDMA).
Stephen has participated as Team Captain for the Doral Relay for Life for the past six years and a member of the Doral Business Council.
He is presently working on finding a viable solution with the merchants and the City of Doral to improve the private roads within the DDD (Doral Décor District) in order to achieve progress in the Master Plan.
He is a resident of Doral and a business merchant too. He loves his city and enjoys participating and contributing in his community.

Michael A. Crudele is the son of Vincent A. Crudele the original developer of the Doral Decor District. Born in Miami and educated at Belen Jesuit Preparatory School, Michael earned 3 College degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science and also became a Real Estate Broker. He has coached football and been a professor at Coral Gables Senior High, Ransom Everglades School, and is now currently at Belen Jesuit Preparatory. Michael, along with his sister Rosemary and his brother Anthony manage the family properties in Doral.
Ernesto L. Aviñó was born December 4, 1974 in Miami Florida. In 1996, he graduated from Florida International University with his B.S. in Civil Engineering. He joined Marmol Export U.S.A. in 1998 and established the construction division. He obtained his Certified General Contractor license shortly thereafter. In 2002, he became Vice President and now oversees the general operations for the company. Today, construction has become a vital part to the diversity of the business.
Anthony “Tony” DeRosa founded WestVest Associates, Inc. in 1993 and is acting President. WestVest is one of the few independently owned industrial and commercial real estate firms in South Florida. As a full service real estate firm, WestVest specializes in commercial & industrial real estate and has evolved over the years to include Land Development, Retail Development and Project Management.
With hundreds of millions of dollars in production, Tony has been instrumental in the landscape of the Miami Airport West Industrial Area and what is today known as the city of Doral. In the last 10 years Tony has focused not only on his core real estate business but as a real estate owner/operator all over the county. His investments include multi-tenant warehouse complexes, retail centers & commercial office buildings.
Tony’s success can be attributed to his disciplined work ethics, old fashioned approach to personalized business service and his passion for the latest technology.
Tony’s business and community relations include currently sitting on the Board of Governors for the Realtors Commercial Alliance, the Doral Decor Advisory Committee, and the Board of Director for the Doral Decor Merchant Association. He is past President of the Miami Commercial Board of Realtors.
Tony lives in Miami, is married with two children.
